New in the Shop!

T-shirts, with art by Bob Lizarraga!
I sent Bob some sketches last year, and we talked about the direction in which I wanted it to go. After some back and forths and some wonderful tweaking on his part, he came up with some spooktacular art!
After Bob was done, I sent them over to Evenas Design for the craft beer label treatment.
"So this skeleton walks into a bar..."
And then, there was The Great ShellHawk's Creations Photo Shoot at Oak Park Brewing Company! These crazy kids had fun with this amateur photographer, but even more fun was when one of them busted out some props and costume parts!
And soon, there will be coffee mugs and beer steins available! (And yes, some jacks will be up soon, too!)
Order your shirt at ShellHawk's Creations Etsy Store! And spread the word, too! :D

A Few Good Jacks...

I'm hoping to get some of the jacks up in my Etsy store this week for a one-day only event, since many of you have been asking when you'll get an online opportunity to buy them!

Here are a few to whet your appetite for pumpkins!

I hope you like them! Feel free to spread the word...

ScareLA Post-Mortem

Wonderful show! Got to see lots of cool folks, sold a bunch of jacks and other stuff!

Too tired to give the whole run-down, but hey, a picture is worth a gazillion words, right?

Rhode Montijo, y'all! Rhode Freakin' Montijo!
Art by Bob Lizarraga and Rhode Montijo! I couldn't resist taking them home!

Wonderful friend and former roller derby girl, Lola Honey Badger Pop.
The lady version of Captain Spaulding, my best friend and talented artist, Ron Whipple, and yours truly!
Eric Pigors and one of his delightful designs! Best next-door neighbor, ever!
Chris Ape and friend, Ed Roberts, of West Coast Haunters Convention.
The monsters packing up and going home. Always sad!
Chris Ape, riding shotgun on the way home!
Such a fantastic time! I can't wait for next year!

ScareLA - Finally Here!

I drove down to L.A. yesterday morning, starting out at 4:30AM to miss traffic and have some time to tie up loose ends. And by loose ends, I mean pick up banners and take a nap!

Today is setup, and tomorrow, the floor opens at 11:00AM, so come on out and see me at booth 613, by the slider stage! I'll be doing my lecture from 12:30 to 2:00, so I won't be in the booth at that time, but otherwise, I'll be lurking around! I'll try to post pictures for you!

Don't forget to order your tickets online (I think you still can!) and use SCARESHELL at checkout for a discount. Hopefully it's not too late!

See you there!

I hope I get to see a few of you there!

So This Happened...

...a few weeks ago. Ain't it pretty? *eye roll*
My cousin moved in with us a few months ago and brought her dog with her. Overall, integrating all three of the dogs has gone pretty well. They've played together, eaten together without any food aggression, and been pretty good. Better, in fact, than any of us anticipated.

Except, of course, sometimes the girls have disputes, which is how I ended up with twelve stitches during the most critical and busy time of my year.

With ScareLA only days away, panic, overwhelm and stress doesn't even begin to describe how I'm feeling.

I can't make my most popular product at the time when demand is highest. I can't make the commissions people have been asking for. And even though the stitches are out, I can't bend my finger for fear of the partially healed skin splitting and ending up at square one. It'll be a few more days before I can take the splint off and start trying to bend my stiff finger. I can't feel the knuckle at all because there's been some nerve damage. Thankfully, though, no tendons were torn when one of the dogs caught my finger by accident. That would have been even more of a catastrophe for a potter!

I was already behind because of working a "real job" and my shoulder surgery, and now this. *sigh*

One year--one full year--I will get through without an injury or other physical drama which prevents me from getting my real work done.

*sigh*

Can I borrow some Xanax, please?
